Project Overview

Discovery 1 Biomedical Research Facility was one of the first buildings built for the University of South Carolina’s Innovista Plan to co-locate private and public research. 

Supporting the research of cancer-related diseases, the facility contains 125,000 sq. ft. wet laboratory that incorporates a 10,000 SF vivarium (animal holding facility). LEED Silver certified, the building also features dry labs, a nutrition research center and test kitchen, and a brain imaging center.
